Pitch 1:
This is our first pitch that we presented to our teacher. It is for the song 'Naive' by The Kooks. Having presented this to our teacher she decided that the song wasn't suitable and that it would be difficult to put a music video to. The song itself has a similar dynamic throughout and although as a group we liked the song a lot, she felt that it wouldn't be easy to make a good music video because the song has no impact. Therefore we had to think of a new song and produce a new pitch.
Pitch 2:
From the feedback we have received we therefore decided to change our song from The Kooks - Naive to Paolo Nutini - Last Request. As a group we decided that this song was less repetitive and with the feedback from our target audience we agreed that this was a better choice of song to use. After pitching the new idea to our teacher, she confirmed that this was the perfect song choice for us. It suits our target audience and matches our chosen settings, costumes and actors. The song has more of a distinctive difference between chorus and verse making it easier to film different shots and allowing the video to flow, again making the video look more professional.
After our first pitch was rejected, we decided that the best thing to do was ask members of our target audience what song they would suggest choosing for our music video. In doing so, it took the decisoon out of our hands and it gave us something to go by. From the image on the left it is clear that the majority of our class chose Paolo Nutini's song 'Last Request' as the song to use for our music video. As a group we liked this choice and we then had to pitch our chosen song and idea to see whether it is a good choice of song and whether the ideas we have would be suited to this song.
