Song Choice Development - Charlotte Lloyd
When we first started thinking about what typesof songs we wanted to use, we all agreed that we wanted to have a dance song. This way we could create an interesting narrative and have performance aswell. We could use quick cuts and interesting editing styles. However after dicussion between our group and our teacher we concluded that using a dance song, would actually end up looking more unprofessional as it is alot more difficult to make them look realistic. This is because we do not have access to settings such as clubs and hot countries.
Some of the song choices we considered to use were:

Due to these issuses we concluded to start researching into different music genres.
After a lot of detailed research we then decided that our chosen genre was going to be indie rock. After searching through many favourites and many hates we concluded to three songs to choose from. We decided we preferred the indie rock genre, as you can create more intricate shots of the instruments and singers etc. Also we can have a lot of band performance which again makes the video look more profressional and realsitic.

After listening to all the songs and thinking through how each of the videos would turn out we decided that the best way to know which song will be best from here is to ask members of our target audience which song they would think would be best to make a video to. In asking our target audience, it means that this is the one they would look forward to seeing a video for the most.
As shown in the tally chart on the left, our target audience chose Paolo Nutini's song 'Last Request'. Therefore as a result of asking our target audience we have found out which song they would like to see a video being made to.
